How did the project start?
The project started by demoing the existing deck and stairs as well as the foundation.
What were the challenges you faced?
The biggest challenge was the floating stairs. We wanted to create the look of floating stairs vs traditional steps.
How did you tackle the challenges?
We tackled the problem by working slowly and thinking through the details. We always set our posts on post bases vs setting them in concrete which forced us to think through the exact measurements before getting started.
What problem did the client want to solve with the project?
The client wanted an enjoyable space to relax and enjoy the view, with low maintenance.
How did you solve the problem?
We solved this problem by building an aesthetically pleasing, low maintenance deck that they can enjoy every day.
