How did the project start?

The project started by demoing a stair system and breaking up an existing concrete porch slab to pour the new footers.

What were the challenges you faced?

Wrapping the stone at an angle around the grill surround was the most challenging task we faced as well as building the custom bench. 

How did you tackle the challenges?

We tackled the challenge by investing in the best tools for cutting stone at an angle. For the bench, we preplanned the bench design and created a cut sheet to make the furniture build seamless.

What problem did the client want to solve with the project?

The client wanted an outdoor space that he could enjoy more time cooking and entertaining with his kids. He did not want a rectangle and wanted a unique, tasteful design. 

How did you solve the problem?

We solved this by creating a space that was functional. It had the grill space, seating, as well as a built-in table for standing/sitting to enjoy meals. We also opted for a built in planter box vs handrail system to give him a tasteful accessory.
