How did the project start?

The client wanted more than just a deck. We had to brainstorm together to capture all aspects of their vision. They wanted a grill space, table, and added privacy.

What were the challenges you faced?

The biggest challenge was the small amount of space we had to work with. We had only 120 SF available to incorporate all of the features. 

How did you tackle the challenges?

The biggest challenge to tackle was the grill and table space. We decided on a custom built-in table that would allow for barstools to tuck under the table. There was just enough space for the “grill master” to cook without bumping into someone at the table as well as the guests at the table having just enough room to enjoy their meal. 

What problem did the client want to solve with the project?

The customer had a vacation rental. They wanted to add an outdoor space to their rental that would allow guests to enjoy returning from the beach and grilling/enjoying company outside.

How did you solve the problem?

We solved the problem by designing and building an outdoor space that accomplished the goal. They were able to enhance their rental property with a small but useful outdoor space that guests can enjoy on their beach vacation.
